Optimizing distribution with automation

In 2013, Matas upgraded its central warehouse to improve efficiency and accuracy in order fulfillment. To support this transition, Q-System delivered an automated solution that optimizes the flow of goods from picking to shipping.

What we delivered

The system includes belt conveyors, driven roller conveyors, and decline conveyors, ensuring smooth transportation of orders across the facility. In the main picking area, employees use headsets and scanners to collect items, placing completed orders on conveyors that automatically transport them to the shipping department. Barcode scanning directs each package to the correct outfeed lane, while a separate system for high-value items incorporates weight verification to minimize errors.

The result

By automating package handling, Matas has significantly reduced manual workload, minimized sorting errors, and improved overall efficiency. The system processes up to 500 packages per hour, maintaining an uptime of 98–100%, ensuring fast and precise deliveries to stores.
