The Q History

Q-Transportmateriel A/S, today known as Q-System, has its roots in Johan Quist & Co., founded in 1955 with a focus on producing steel frames for furniture. The "Q" in Q-System honors the legacy of Johan Quist, reflecting the company’s long history and commitment to quality. Within just a few years, the company expanded to include transport carts and other equipment for the furniture industry, which quickly became a major part of the business, leading to the sale of the steel frame production.

With close ties to the wood industry, the company developed innovative solutions such as roller conveyors and belt conveyors. Over time, Q-System also developed a new pallet transport system – a conveyor system that is now used across many industries handling the movements of goods from A to B.

A milestone for Q-System came in 1968-1969 with the production of non-driven conveyors for both light and heavy goods, followed by the introduction of chain conveyors in 1984. Since then, the systems have been updated, but we still look back with pride on the first conveyor system.

In 1992, AVK Group, along with a consortium of local businessmen, purchased Q-System, signaling the start of a new chapter for the company. This collaboration of resources and expertise has greatly contributed to the continued growth and development of Q-System.

In 2003, Q-System developed and launched the first standalone pallet stacker, demonstrating Q-System's ability to innovate and meet the needs of the market.

In 2013, the pallet magazine was designed, revolutionizing pallet handling and strengthening the company's position as a leading provider of internal transport solutions.

In 2024, AVK Group became the 100% owner of Q-System, marking an important milestone in our company's history. This acquisition marks the start of an exciting journey, during which our commitment to delivering industry-leading solutions remains steadfast. Although our ownership has changed, our solutions and methods remain unchanged, and our dedication to meeting our customers' needs remains constant. We are proud of our Danish heritage and look forward to continuing our journey with the support and strength of AVK Group behind us.
